Emily + Nick's Wedding : More than a Preview
July 1, 2013 WEDDINGS
Yesterday Emily and Nick got married at Lord Thompson Manor and I just have to share a few previews and a short story...During the planning stages of their engagement session, Nick accidentally emailed me instead of Emily; the topic was Emily looking cute in a dress at a potential location. I hadn't met them at the point, but I couldn't wait to photograph their wedding. This email was a glimpse into their life and love for each other. It is spectacular.
Ceremony performed by Rev. Victoria Burdick. I adore this lovely "snowflake of a soul," her words not mine--Victoria has a unique talent of using all the right words at the right moment. She creates the most beautiful and special marriage ceremonies that are treasured by her couples.
Ceremony music by Fensgate Chamber Players; always an outstanding job. Ted, who works at The Manor and I secretly adore, also sang during the ceremony with his music teacher.
Priscilla from Kiss Spa did Emily's beautiful hair and make-up. It's always a calm and relaxing environment when she's there working her magic.
Event planning, decor and all things fabulous by Jackie, owner of Lord Thompson Manor. How she continually raises the bar on the most perfectly gorgeous wedding day inspires and motivates me. This heavenly cake was made by Something Sweet by Michelle. Michelle's cakes are not only candy for the eye, they are also the yummiest of cakes.
As soon as the band, One Step Ahead, stopped playing the last song of the night, it started to sprinkle. This last picture I took; making that sprinkle sparkle!
My days working at "The Manor" are the best; it's almost like being at home (but better). Luann opens the door with a warm welcome and a hug, Jackie is executing perfection, Chef Mike is behind the scenes preparing the best meal you'll ever have, Ted is singing while he's setting up, Danielle and Kate make the day go smoothly and check in with me throughout the day in a kind and helpful manner, Andrew is the behind the scenes in the office and at the end of the most perfect evening he will thrill your taste buds with a Scotch or Cognac tasting (and cigar if you choose) and countless other fond memories of what I'd like to call my extended family. This all happens while capturing precious moments in people's lives. It is an exceptional work/life experience.
Emily and Nick are now a big part of the extended Manor family. That email really was just a glimpse, their love for each other is beautiful, inspiring and uplifting far beyond what I could have ever thought.
Emily and Nick, may you have many, many years together, create countless picture perfect memories, and call me when you celebrate your 50th wedding anniversary together. I maybe too old to work, but I'd love a piece of cake!
XOXO --- Alissa
PS My apologies if I have not recognized any other vendors or people. I will include more in the full blog entry, and if you'd like I can add you to this one.
